Dr Cristina Arroyo Casabona

Dr Cristina Arroyo holds a BSc in Veterinary Sciences (2006) and a PhD in Food Processing and Food Safety (2012) awarded by the University of Zaragoza, Spain. She has over 14 years’ experience in the areas of Food Process Technology and Food Microbiology. Cristina currently holds a position as a Technical Executive in the Food Safety Authority of Ireland promoting an ensuring enforcement and compliance with EU and Irish regulations on novel foods, genetically modified foods, food labelling (allergen declarations), food irradiation and food enzymes. Before she has worked in AZTI Tecnalia, a private R&D centre in Bilbao, Spain, and at University College Dublin, Ireland, where she was involved in numerous research projects closely aligned to the food industry needs.
